Biography:
Terrell Lynn Randall was born in Iowa City and graduated from Cedar Rapids’ Jefferson High School in the class of 1966. Before joining the service he attended Upper Iowa University in Fayette. Randal joined the Marine Corps in June 1967 and he was sent to South Vietnam in December of the same year. PFC Randall served as a Mortarman with the 3rd Marine Division. He was killed four months into his deployment on March 4, 1968. He received multiple fatal fragmentation wounds during an enemy mortar attack in the vicinity of Dong Ha. Six other Marines were killed during the attack. PFC Randall’s body was returned to Iowa and buried at the Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. He was 19 years old at the time of his death.
