Biography:
Terry Patrick Sloan, of Des Moines, served in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman (CM). He completed Field Medical School at Camp Pendleton, CA in 1964. He was among the first combat troops on Vietnamese soil in 1965. He was assigned as a field medic with a company in the 3rd Marine Division. HM Sloan died on November 9, 1966 due to an accidental homicide. Records indicated that a grenade was mishandled and exploded. Sloan was 29 years old and married at the time of his death. His body was buried at the Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, CA.
