Tommy Ivan Hindman

Tommy Ivan Hindman of Cedar Rapids graduated from Jefferson High School in the class of 1967. He joined the Army in September 1969 and began his tour in Vietnam the following February. PFC Hindman was killed on May 6, 1970 from wounds he suffered while involved in firefight with enemy forces in Thua Thein Province. His body was buried at Cedar Memorial Park in Cedar Rapids. After his death Hindman was posthumously promoted to corporal. He was 20 years old at the time of his death.
