Biography:
Walter Johnson grew up in the Des Moines area and graduated from high school in 1963. After attending Grandview College, he served in the Army in Vietnam with the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry. His tour started in August 1965. Private First Class Johnson died while a passenger aboard a C-123 transport that crashed January 25th in Binh Dinh Province near Deo Marry Pass. Walter Johnson was married and was buried in Marietta National Cemetery in Georgia.
