Biography:
Warren Kenneth Wolff and his parents moved to Waterloo from Wisconsin. Although he graduated from Janesville High School in 1968, he had attended Waterloo schools at a younger age. Wolff lived with his foster parents in Janesville before joining the Army in 1970. He was shipped out to Vietnam in August of 1971. Within a few months Wolff became ill with meningitis and was slated to be hospitalized at Fort Riley, KS. He developed a respiratory problem while in route resulting in an emergency tracheotomy and was taken to Letterman General Hospital in San Francisco, CA. There he was visited by his parents before dying on November 18, 1971 at the age of 22.
