Wayne Francis Reed

Wayne F. Reed was born in Nebraska but grew up in Crescent in Pottawattamie County. He liked to hunt and play baseball. He enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school and began his tour in Vietnam in January 1967 with the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines in Quang Nam Province. Private First Class Reed was killed while on patrol near Da Nang on July 16th. He was buried in Crescent Cemetery.
