Biography:
William James Adams was born in Cincinnati, OH before moving to Iowa City in 1956. He graduated from Iowa City High School in 1965 and was a member of the National Honor Society. Adams attended Iowa State University in Ames for 2 years before joining the Army in July 1968. Following training Adams was sent to Vietnam in April 1969. Within a month, on May 18, 1969, PFC Adams was killed by hostile small arms fire. He was buried in Fulton, KY at the Boaz Chapel Cemetery.
