Biography:
William Boyer was living in Sioux City when he joined the Army in 1969. He became a clerk typist and started his tour in January 1970. Boyer was assigned to the 1st Logistical Command, 54th General Support Group based in Lam Dong. The 1st Log was responsible for monitoring ports, supervising civilian labor and keeping track of truck and boat units. Boyer was killed while driving a vehicle that slipped off the road. The accident threw him out of the cab and the vehicle then hit and killed him. He was buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City.
